Sol Republic provided me with a set of RELAYS for review. Prior to using the RELAYS, the only ear buds I used were the ones that came standard with the iPhone. I was hoping to have found in ear headphones that not only had remarkable sound quality, but that also stayed put when I was running or doing other activities.

The first thing I noticed with the RELAYS was that there were multiple tips that you could put on the ear buds in order to achieve the proper fit with the shape of your own ears. Once I found the tips that worked best for me, I was ready to give them a test run. Without realizing it, more than two hours passed while I happily listened to my music (not the music the kids like) and got some work done. The sound quality was on par with over the ear headphones that I have used in the past - with the highs and lows clear and crisp, no distortion, and the important part for ear buds - no discomfort.

A week later, I decided to wear my RELAYS and listen to music while mowing the lawn. I was impressed by the sound dampening qualities. While I could still hear the lawnmower, I had my music on at a reasonable level and could hear it clearly. Again, the RELAYS stayed comfortably in my ears, even with getting sweaty and hot while outdoors.

It has now been about 6 weeks, and I'm officially in love with my RELAYS. I have cast aside the old ear buds, and now I make sure to bring these with me wherever I go.
